Connoisseurs agree that the Seiser Alm and UNESCO’s world heritage Dolomites are among the most beautiful hiking and climbing areas in the Alps. And our Residence Park is right in the middle of it. The village of Kastelruth is ideally located to explore the most popular hikes in the Schlern-Rosengarten nature park.

The Seiser Alm, with its cable car can be easily and comfortably reached from Seis. It is the starting point for many hikes in the Dolomites. A well signposted network of trails leads through the impressive world of mountains, over flowering mountain pastures higher up into rocky regions. Also down here in the villages around the Schlern, there are almost endless hiking opportunities over meadows and through woodland, from farm to farm, stately home to stately home or other mystical places such as for example the Hexenbänken (witches benches). The hiking trails begin immediately at our front door.

Depending on your condition you can choose between unhurried 2 to 3 hour hikes or more extensive mountain tours such as the Dolomite peaks of Plattkofel and Schlern that your can see in the distance. Hikers are accompanied by a wonderful panorama and the unique flora and fauna of the nature park – blooming alpenrose groves,  fragrant Swiss Stone Pine forests and the call of the marmots invite you to pause for a moment on the edge of the trail.

Hiking is in demand all year round: in the spring stock up on vitality on unhurried walks through the efflorescent countryside, conquer the high peaks in summer, whilst Törggelen invites you into the wine taverns in autumn; winter then enchants winter hikers with its white fairy tale world on the Seiser Alm.
